What we do
Supported by a team of experienced musicians, film makers and sound producers we teach youth in hands-on workshops how to write, record and produce their own songs and conceptualise, shoot and edit their own documentary videos. In doing so, we are showing them how to use innovative, easily accessible lo-fi technologies, like mobile phones, pocket synthesizers and free mixing and cutting apps, which they can use single-handedly for digital music and film production. The end result is a creative product they can take away and which can be disseminated for greater impact.
With our mobile container studios, the Turntable Labs, we create a unique space in which young people can learn new artistic and technical skills and autonomously produce high quality music and film media. We give youth a platform for self-expression through which they can strengthen their confidence and find a creative entry point to civic engagement in communities and locations that lack resources for such projects.
The Turntable lab was developed in partnership with the Danish Center for Maritime Architecture. The space for a sustainable and scaleable solution for youth has been refined and is now implemented by our CSR partner Arcgency Architecture Copenhagen.
