Besides our projects we occasionally also realise single events.

Music Freedom Day

On 5 March 2018, Turning Tables Germany organised a concert with Syrian-British hip hop band Wladalamm and friends to mark Music Freedom Day. This was made possible by the support of Freemuse, an NGO which defends the rights of musicians and artistic freedom of expression across the world. The event was part of a global campaign and was the kick-off event for Turning Tables’ work in Germany.

Tempelhof Airfield Openday

On 1 September 2018, Turning Tables Germany participated at the Tempelhof Airport Open Day. With live singing, rap and DJ performances and a guest appearance by The Funny Indian Guy, our coaches Taha, Jazz and Evelina gave a taste of what Turning Tables Germany could offer in music and film workshops for the Tempelhof community.

Sample Music Festival

During the Sample Music Festival on 2 September 2018, several of the participating artists, such as DJiDADA, Clockwork Orange and Ryan Ross, held presentations and interactive workshops on DJing, finger drumming and live coding. In interviews with Turning Tables Germany, they explained how innovative and easily accessible lo-fi technologies can give a voice to marginalised youth and help them get involved in digital music production.
